Who Needs An Apple iPhone?

Although the launch of the Apple iPhone means that many who see the next generation smart phone is sure to want one, we have identified a few key consumers who might find the iPhone an indispensable tool.

The Students:

Given Apple's close link to the academic community, it's inevitable that there will be some alliances forged between the two realms of Apple's cutting edge design and technology and the needs of academia. One of Steve Jobs' previous start-ups, NeXT, focused on higher education and business markets, while its Mac line of desktops are used in biotechnology research and analytical computations. Students using the iPhone will find its features like the ability to playback MP3 tracks useful. Not so much for catching the latest pop songs, but rather to catch education-related podcasts.

The iPhone's ability to stream video means that e-learning or distance learning can take place, as long as the academic institution has the infrastructure in place. Having a 2-megapixel digital camera built into the iPhone means that photos can be taken with ease, whether it's for assignments or for personal recreation.

Road Warriors:

Business people on the move will find the iPhone to be useful, especially with the availability of full featured Internet access, rather than the abbreviated web surfing currently available on many smart phones. This means that not only will you be able to check for information on the Internet, it also means that secure business transactions can take place easily.

The availability of Internet access over Wi-Fi networks mean that available Web 2.0 services will allow mobile office workers to access their data on the move. Freed from being deskbound, the Apple iPhone is currently enabled to access Google's Maps application. Over time, you can expect Apple's strategic partners to develop more business applications.

Business Owners:

The workhorse nature of the iPhone together with its close integration to Apple's Safari Internet browser, mean that business applications can be used seamlessly.

We can make an educated guess that the separation between the computer and your mobile iPhone device will be erased over time. Perhaps we might even predict that the iPhone will gradually take over the functions of your laptop or notebook computer over time. With Apple's support for its developer network, this means that a new generation of business applications can be expected on the horizon.

Apple's broad appeal is not just limited to the iPhone however, it's previous products such as the Mac, its followup brethren the iMac and the iPod digital music player have received a warm reception from its users.

Mahathirs big comeback

SEPT 11 ?When Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad retired in 2003, everyone hailed him as a statesman; someone who did not choose the LKY-route. You know, in Singapore, Lee Kuan Yew maintained a direct line to the Singapore govt by keeping a cabinet post ?first as Senior Minister and now Minister Mentor.

Nevertheless, less than two years after he stepped down, he began to attack his hand-picked successor, Abdullah Ahmad Badawi, through his popular blog. The man who started the MSC and went after websites that attacked his administration suddenly discovered that the cyberspace worked both ways ?he could use cyberspace to harry Abdullah regardless of what the compliant mainstream media says.

Primping is one of the most delightful portions of observing Halloween. Dressing with small business broadband grouping of friends or kin is even better. Rather than obtaining just one complete costume, you get to select three or 5 or ten! From TV show casts to imaginative mobile wireless broadband here is a listing of easy and fun group Halloween

Broadband is an often used term for referring to a high bandwidth or Tm Net capacity of a communication line. Having a broadband connection means your web pages will load much faster than they do using your phone line. Broadband connections mean instant access to online information, email, instant message and other communications services available on the internet. It means that the information can move into and out of our homes and businesses much more efficiently and quickly.

The network convergence/ evolution are heading towards all IP with common service layer and Core network with layered architecture enabling common Bluehyppo Malaysia IP based transport, common session control, common charging, common user and service management, common presence and group management, unified operation and management.

In a converged network environment, the user's voice network should work in the same manner as his/her data network and vice-versa. In other prepaid broadband the way user performs actions with familiar tools in the data world should be the same as voice services added to the Internet Protocol (IP) network. The digital devices may be interconnected over a wide-area network offering IP connectivity. The service provider role is reduced to being a simple bit carrier and the real service value is created outside of the operator domain.

Given that the number of communication devices in the home is increasing, the PC is more and more becoming a common home device. Over the coming years, it is believed that this development will continue, increasing the interest for a home network to which a number of devices can be connected. This in turn breeds an increasing need for broadband connections.

iPhone - The Mobile Social Network

This is one of its kinds as it has Wireless Adsl Modem Router right features. For any mobile social network to be successful it is necessary to have presence, awareness and in addition it must have ability to tell its user where his/her friends are and what they are up to. Not only that it can also let meet new people with each other.

It is a fact that big social networks are not ignoring mobiles. However the Facebook's iPhone app is just the desktop version optimized for that phone. It has drawback that it doesn't leverage the device itself to tell its user when his/her friends are close.

It is really not a drawback because here the ultimate aim is not to just let users see where their friends are and what they are up to rather the killer app is to facilitate meeting new people either for dating or for business purpose and that too with privacy.

It is to believe that once a network has critical mass users will, depending on its privacy settings, be able to walk into any gathering and see information on the people in the room. The advantage will be surely on first come first serve basis i.e. who will get there first will have a better chance than the existing networks at MySpace and Facebook today.

In order to establish a critical mass it is necessary to have users on devices that have GPS or triangulation for presence and location, and having software on the phone instead of just accessing it from a website. Example to prove this is that getting java apps on phones in Europe is quite easier as compared to U.S. that is the reason why most of the mobile social network startups are located there.

The iPhone, is having both these utilities and is soon going to equip with SDK to allow third party apps on the phone. As soon as that SDK is released, one should look for an outbreak of third party applications to try and create a social network on the iPhone.

Practically all summer, the buzz surrounding TomTom's forthcoming iPhone GPS app was near deafening. But said noise apparently didn't penetrate the labs at Navigon, as that very outfit has produced what's easily the most full-featured option on the market today. Just a week after updating the already-great app with text-to-speech, iPod controls and location sharing, the company is now proclaiming that live traffic will splash down in October (at least in North America). The update will enable the software to utilize real-time speed data from drivers currently en route as well as historical information in order to alert you of slow-downs and re-route you when necessary. We've personally seen live traffic functions fail more often than not, but we're prepaid wireless broadband Navigon the benefit of the doubt here until we can test it ourselves. Best of all, it'll only cost MobileNavigator users (priced at $89.99) a one-time fee of $24.99 for lifetime traffic, and if you snag it within the first four weeks after it goes on sale, that rate drops to $19.99. So, TomTom -- what now?

Navigon adding live traffic to iPhone navigation app, asks 'TomTom who?' originally appeared on Engadget Mobile on Thu, 17 Sep 2009 Telekom Malaysia Bhd EST. Please see our terms for use of feeds.
